The NCAA men's basketball tournament is underway and fans are already speculating over to who will reach the Elite 8 and championship final. Basketball’s Elite 8 emerged from the Sweet 16 over the past two days, and the excitement continues over the weekend for basketball fans around the country and around the world.

The Elite Eight typically refers to the final eight teams of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, which is held every March. The Elite Eight is also a synonym for the quarterfinal. The teams that reach the "Elite 8" are considered the eight best teams in the country, although upsets do happen. The Elite 8 marks the final hump teams must go over on their road to the Final Four.
